Build & Edit: What's the difference between a Facebook fan gate and the Facebook mandatory Like to enter feature?

With fan gating, only those who Like your Facebook Page can access the application. If a user does not yet Like your Page when trying to access your promotion, they will be asked to Like your Page to move forward. Fan gating is available at the Basic and Pro package levels.

Note: Make sure you include a different call to action on your Fan Gate Tab image for fans and non-fans! For example, for fans 'Click to Enter', for non-fans 'Like us to Enter'. This ensures that your users know they have to either click on the image or 'Like' the page to proceed to the entry form. If you are using a Facebook Page App you will only need to include a Tab image for non-fans.

With the Facebook mandatory Like to enter, everybody can access the application and interact with the promotion content, but only those who Like your Page may submit. This feature is available on our Pro package only. A popular option is to enable the mandatory Like to enter feature and forgo the fan gate.

You can configure these settings in your contest builder, go to Integration > Facebook.
