I'm Thinking About Running a Contest. What Should I Do First?

First, think about what you want to accomplish with a contest or competition. To make your life easier, you’ll want to have your campaign goals, branding, details and promotional strategy all sorted out (or at least have a good idea of what you want to accomplish) before jumping in the DIY Promotion Builder.

Consider the following:

  1. Do you want to raise awareness of your brand, introduce a new product or feature, engage and honor your existing customers, increase site traffic and attract new customers?
  2. Will your promotion's premise attract participants?
  3. Will you be offering a prize?
  4. How will you be promoting your contest?

We’ve seen clients launch a contest within mere minutes of starting in the DIY Promotion Builder. However, we recommend you give yourself at least one week to build and test your promotion before launching it.

Remember, you can always save and exit your Promotion Builder then return to it to continue editing and previewing your work at any time. Also, you can make copy and design edits to your contest even once it is launched!

Usually the most time-consuming parts of launching a promotion are nailing down the design and the promotional strategy.
